ABOUT US

Who we are, and where we are today

If you are considering talking to us about your practice, you are entitled to know who you would be dealing with, what we are actually building, and where we are in our own development. This page sets out all three, along with how a transaction with us is structured.

What Quantum Medix is

We are building a group of predominantly private dental practices across the UK, including Northern Ireland. We acquire practices directly for the group rather than acting as a broker or intermediary, and we keep what already works — the name over the door, the team inside it, and the clinical judgement of the people delivering care. We welcome mixed and NHS practices too.

There is a limit on what we can buy, and it is better stated early than discovered late. Our model needs a practice that is already associate-led, or one that could become associate-led on a sensible timescale with a plan we both believe in. Where most of the clinical work is yours and there is no realistic route to that changing, the practice may suit another dentist who wants to work in it themselves — someone buying it to run and treat in — and that is usually a better outcome for the seller than anything we could offer. We would rather say so in the first conversation than the fourth.

Three things we are not, because they change how you should read everything else here. We are not a broker or agent, so we are not introducing you to a buyer — we are the buyer. We do not charge sellers a fee, because we are not providing you with a service. And we are not your adviser: we are the party on the other side of the transaction, which is precisely why you should have your own solicitor and accountant. What we bring is an interest in buying your practice and building on the business already there — a plan written around your practice rather than a template, and a platform that takes on the running of it.

Where we are today

Quantum Medix was established in 2026 to build a group of predominantly private dental practices across the UK, including Northern Ireland. We are evaluating opportunities, are in active discussions with practice owners, and have issued acquisition offers. Our first acquisitions have not yet completed.

We believe owners should understand our stage of development before deciding whether to progress discussions with us. Anyone considering an offer should understand two things: the group they would be joining, and the transaction proposed for their own practice.

During the offer process we will therefore set out the proposed acquisition structure, the purchasing entity, the anticipated funding structure, and the steps required to reach completion. Sellers should take independent legal and financial advice before entering into a transaction.

One practical consequence of our stage is worth stating plainly: early sellers get more of our attention, and more influence over how the group is built, than sellers who come later. These are the questions we would encourage you to ask us — or any buyer:

  • How will my acquisition be funded? Ask how the proposed transaction will be funded, what conditions need to be satisfied before completion, and how the funding process fits into the transaction timetable. We will explain the proposed funding structure for your transaction as part of the offer process.
  • Who exactly will I be contracting with? Ask which company in the group is acquiring, and satisfy yourself it is the one that will hold the practice. The entities are listed further down this page.
  • What has to happen before completion? Ask which conditions have to be satisfied, what the timetable looks like, and what each stage will need from you and your advisers.

The platform

We build our own platform rather than licensing someone else's, and it runs our acquisition pipeline end to end. The next build is the side that runs the practices themselves — taking on the compliance, reporting and administrative work that currently eats a principal's evenings.

The commercial point is leanness. Modern tooling lets one central team run functions that would otherwise be duplicated in every practice, which is how a group carries head-office capability without a head-office cost base — and how the savings show up as clinical time and equipment rather than as another layer of management.

There is something genuinely unusual about being among the first practices in. You will not be handed a finished system built around somebody else's workflow; you will see it built, and you will be asked what it should do. Owners and clinicians who want to shape the tooling they use every day have that on the table here in a way they will not have later, once defaults have hardened. Our training and knowledge-sharing platform is one of the areas we are building next, and the earliest practices will help decide what it becomes.

Who is behind it

Antonia O'Hanlon — Founder

Antonia founded Quantum Medix and leads how the group finds practices, structures offers and arranges acquisition funding. She is the person owners deal with from the first conversation onwards.

Her background is engineering and operations leadership — twenty years of it, including running more than fourteen international engineering teams. It is the discipline the group is built on: shared systems from the start, rather than practices bolted together and integrated afterwards. More is on her own page: about Antonia O'Hanlon (also on LinkedIn).

Clinical experience on the board

We have a senior dental adviser on our board who has owned and run practices and has also worked with dental corporates — so they know from both sides what consolidation does well and what it does badly. Nothing about how we treat a practice is decided without that experience in the room.

The group otherwise operates across five core disciplines — clinical leadership, finance, legal, operations and technology. At our current stage we use a combination of founder leadership, specialist advisers and fractional senior expertise, which lets the group bring experienced capability into transactions while the permanent central team is built alongside the portfolio. The roles we are recruiting as the group grows are set out on our work with us page.

If you would like to meet the team, or simply know more about us, contact the founder directly at founder@quantummedix.com. For anything about working with the group, that is recruitment@quantummedix.com.

How we handle what you tell us

Conversations with owners are confidential, and we treat an early enquiry as exactly that — an enquiry, not a commitment. Our privacy notice sets out what we collect, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted, including how we measure use of this site without cookies.

Contact us

Email partners@quantummedix.com and you will reach the acquisitions team directly rather than a general enquiries queue. If you would rather begin without giving your name, use the confidential enquiry on any page of this site and tell us only what you are comfortable telling us.
